Dear Graeme,
I recently purchased a Fishing Torpedo, and it is the bomb. As a nightshift worker and work six days a week I can only fish on Sundays. I lived in Wairoa on the East coast, Hawkes Bay, excellent fishing here. Anyway from 5 sets I have 10 snapper, 2 which were over 20lbs. Me and a friend who purchase a Seahorse went fishing, him with his Seahorse, and me with my Fishing Torpedo at a place called Mohaka, 15 minutes out side Wairoa. My friends Seahorse’s motor specifications were a lot big, 40lbs thrust, my 19lb thrust machine out fished his and out powered his Seahorse. He got only two sets at 2000 metres and went flat, and my Fishing Torpedo got 3 1\2 sets at 2000 metres, before go flat. Out classed the Seahorse. You have designed a solid product. I work at the Affco Freezing Works and mates and friends about your Fishing Torpedo and I have put in a 100% good word on this excellent product so don’t be surprised if you get more orders from this neck of the woods. There is one thing I would like some help with is a diagram on how to adjust the fin or to get straight line when towing out
With thanks David

The Fishing Torpedo ready to be launched |

To Graham
After a season of unreliable wind we decided to rid ourselves of the sail and invest in an electric kontiki. After looking at a few models we chose the torpedo for its extra grunt getting the line out quickly, as well as being able to set it multiple times without charging. It has gone out in some good southerly swells and it handles well. With any less grunt it would have just kept getting washed back. We have set to out multiple times and it’s handy not having to charge or change the battery’s, just switch it on again and go. We have had some good catches of snapper of all sizes with some of them up to 10kg, as well as a lot of gurnard, a few kahawai and a few others as well. We are happy with the purchase and are hoping to get a lot more fish this summer with it.

We are writing to compliment you on your Torpedo electric Kon Tiki which we recently purchased from you.
Individually and as partners we have been recreational long line fishers for the last 25 years. We have been actively involved in the whole evolution of beach fishing starting with wind driven boats, through balloons, every style and variety of kites and electric kontikis and all their improvements and innovations.
Yours is the sixth electric kon tiki we have purchased and we consider it to be superior to our older electric boats.
We have launched it in clam to 1 ½ metre seas and its ruggedness and strength has made light of them all. Its speed is outstanding. Once launched it carries 25 heavy baits, about a pound to lead weights and approximately 1400 metres of line out in 17 minutes, frustrating both the crabs and gulls. Then it stops automatically and allows the baits to sink and do their job. Such speed enables us to get in up to three launches per day if we so wish. When the season improves and fish are more plentiful and closer in, we can adjust the running time of the machine, down to slower journeys.
We have adapted the ply cradle you supplied with the machine. We have installed a movable ply bottom and fitted rope handles to each side to enable two people to carry the machine in comfort. The ply bottom allows us to carry spare weights and other gear in the crate the same time.
Your price versus performance comparison to our other machines is a lot better than them all.
We look forward to many more successful stories in the coming months.
Yours sincerely
Bill and Phil
